GATE Exam: Explore Notification, Registration and Application Form

The GATE 2023 is an upcoming competitive exam organised jointly by seven IITs and IISc Bangalore. Every year, around 9 lakhs of students apply for the GATE exam.   • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

Marking Scheme

For 1 mark questions, 1/3 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

2 marks questions, 2/3 marks will be deducted for every incorrect response.

There are no negative markings for Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

GATE 2023 Registration

The registration process for GATE 2023 began on August 30, 2022. Registration is completely online. The last date for the online registration/application process is the end of September. However, candidates can apply for an extended period by paying a late fee. The steps for the GATE 2023 registration and application form are provided below.

The following steps describe the registration process.

Enter candidate's name (according to valid ID) 
Valid email ID
Country of residence
Mobile number
Password

Once registration is complete, you will be issued a registration ID. A mobile phone number or the email ID is required to pay the registration fee. Verification is done by sending an OTP (one-time password) to your email ID and mobile number.

GATE Application Form

Steps for filling out GATE 2023 application form:

This is the first place to go to complete the GATE Application 2023 using your registration ID and password. You will need to select your preferred subject and the test city. There are three GATE 2023 exam centres to choose from. 

Once this is done, you will need to verify your email address and mobile number. After confirming, OTP will be sent to your registered email ID and mobile number. Be sure to fill in details, such as date of birth, gender, nationality, category and contact information. 
Next, you will need to provide details of your qualification degree, including the name and degree of your qualification degree, university name, previous academic years, etc.
Upload required documents for GATE registration. All the documents are to be uploaded in JPEG and PDF format.
Candidates can find the required dimensions and sizes of the documents in the GATE brochure.
Candidates are also required to pay the exam fees and finally confirm the declaration and submit it.
